Paddy’s Day Parades in North Kildare

Happy St Patrick's Day from North Kildare Weekly.

Here's everything happening across the area today so you can plan your day.

WEATHER: Mostly cloudy, around 11–12°C with a low chance of rain (20%). Bring a layer and a light rain jacket — especially if you're heading to Celbridge later in the afternoon.

MAYNOOTH — 11am This year's theme is Medieval Maynooth, marking 850 years of the town. The parade sets off from Greenfield Shopping Centre and winds through Main Street, finishing near Tesco. After the parade, the Glenroyal Hotel has a Family Fun Day running until 3pm — kids' entertainment, face painting, and a magic show at 1pm.

LEIXLIP — 1pm The parade runs from Station Road to Louisa Bridge. Keep an eye out for a replica of Michael Collins' famous armoured car, the Sliabh na mBan, which is making a special appearance.

KILCOCK — 1:30pm Starting at St Joseph's Graveyard in Boycetown, this year's theme is On Our Screens — from Soaps to Superheroes. A fun one for kids.

CELBRIDGE — 4pm Theme is Gulliver's Travels, marking 300 years since Jonathan Swift's novel. Big lineup - the Ohio State University Marching Band, The Brass Monkeys, and a Brazilian Samba Band. Free pre-parade concert on Main Street from 2:30pm, headlined by folk band Still Tuning. Main Street closes from 1:30pm and reopens around 6pm, so plan your parking.

Have a great day!
